For much of its 80+ years of music-making, Onchan Silver Band has incorporated a training band in some form. This branch of the band also falls under the group’s charity registration (number 1325).
The band raises its own funds through year-round performances and through the generous support of individuals and organisations. All of those providing the high-quality brass tuition do so in their free time and for no fee.
But it is not simply the expertise of the officials and tutors which the band provide; all of the following are provided by the organisation and contribute to the ongoing running costs:
